In order to cope with these challenges and realizing the simultaneous production of different variations and models within the same factory, innovative production systems like the Matrix-structured Manufacturing System or Fluid Manufacturing System have received increasing attention. However, the realization of alternative production systems imply the development and the use of cyber-physical systems (CPS). Hence, by networking production modules, autonomous guided vehicles, smart load carriers and utilizing process relevant information, the aim of a flexible and versatile production can be achieved. This paper describes the development process of Smart Logistics Modules as CPS for Smart Load carriers. ER
